I have been trying to rid myself of some duplicate/extra stuff in the workshop. I recently bought a new wood lathe (this one with this extension bed). I made a nice base for it on wheels, which is larger than my old lathe (a Central Machinery lathe my Great Uncle bought in the 90's from Harbor Freight).
The old lathe still worked, but it was now in the way. Onto Craigs List it went, along with a Craftsman bench sander (4 x 36 belt / 6" disc) that had been replaced by this one, mainly because of the 8" disc (the belt was the same size).
The sander was up for a few weeks with no hits, the lathe was up for less than a week when I got a call on it. I came down in price on both, but sold them both to the guy :) He picked them up tonight.
Now, to see what else I have that is taking up space and not needed...
One thing I will NOT get rid of is my old Delta Milwukee drill press. This thing has to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 years old. The manual for the motor is from the 40s, and based on a site I found listing serial number ranges, was likely made in 1952. Still runs great, although I did finally have to replace the power cord on both the motor and light. |
