some fire depts not hiring enough women. Apparently most of the women applicants were failing the physical tests so the local government wanted to lower the requirements. The fire depts screamed NO as it was a safety issue. The biggest objectors were the women firefighters. The issues the FD were talking about were the strength needed to hold the water hoses and the ability to carry unconscious victims out of burning buildings.
