The number of your years.... by wwill 2011-04-19 11:51:09
They fly past, my friend. Before you know it, they'll be gone.

Enjoy your little ones while you can still catch them.

One of my wife's pair breaks Mach on a regular basis, we haven't been able to catch him for a long, long time now.

And both of them have kids now. Three grands, two girls and one boy, so far. You compensate, you adapt. But they're always your kids.

I so very much miss my own son. My ex (unlawfully, and very much against my wishes) moved to Texas (and there's ANOTHER reason to hate that state) about 15 years ago now. Not a single school picture, not a letter or a card, in the last ten years not even a visit. She even moved several times thinking I couldn't keep track of her. (Once a spook, always a spook...) When I started getting packages back at birthdays and holidays, "Refused, return to sender" I sort of gave up. That just hurt too much.

Enjoy your kids while you can. Some of us didn't get the chance, and are much the poorer for it.

He's 21 now, as of Jan. 31. I've considered trying to contact him, but if the ex is still anywhere near, it would be a lost cause.
