and no I am not at all being snarky or trying to be mean, it's just for information.
The English term for the "hip bowl" would actually be "pelvic girdle."
Since we all figured out exactly what you meant anyway, "hip bowl" works; communication happened. Maybe we should just change it and everyone use "hip bowl." Sounds more fun, to me.
Mainly I'm glad you weren't more seriously injured. I saw a similar crash here on a back road with a full-sized motorcycle striking the side of a turning farm truck, and the result was complete decapitation of the cyclist. His head, still inside the helmet, was on the bed of the truck, the motorcycle was underneath it completely mangled by the wheels, and the rest of his body thrown many metres into the ditch at the side of the road.
You were lucky, my friend. (We UFies are very glad of that, you would be missed.) The cycle was only traveling at about 60 Km / hour when he hit the truck. |
