2 is highly dependent on what one already has. like if one already has a 22-24" monitor than the plus 5 inches option would be very expensive. but anyway, right now i've got none of the above, don't have the desk space for another monitor of the same size (23" 1080p model) nor do I really want one given I hardly use the second one I have. (19" 1366x768 TV) Gets used as a TV plenty but hardly ever as a second monitor.
