Way to many idiots ride way to fast on walk/bike routes. I recall doing about 50 on a 70 km/h road and being overtaken (quickly!) by a moped on the parallelling walk/bike lane... Sadly no police around - not that they would have been likely to be able do anything. On the other hand, one of the docs after my collision said that part of his work route was either 2 lane+hard shoulder 90km/h road or the walk/bike lane (or a significant detour). Apparently the cops were OK with him riding on the walk/bike lane, as long as he kept it sensible, ie below 25 and less when around pedestrians. Likely to vary between districts or even individual officers.
