I think it involved some socket file which is used by the tools to communicate with libvirtd. Maybe this excerpt of my filesystem helps: /etc/libvirt$ ls -lF /var/run/libvirt insgesamt 0 srwxrwx--- 1 root libvirtd 0 2011-02-16 20:07 libvirt-sock= srwxrwxrwx 1 root libvirtd 0 2011-02-16 20:07 libvirt-sock-ro= drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 2011-02-16 20:07 network/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 2011-02-16 20:07 qemu/
