If you say two disks add up to 1.5TB of usable storage that would be like RAID 0 (simply concatenating the drives) or striping which would yeald a different performance profile. (But no redundancy to protect against drive failures) If you want to get a mirror (RAID 1) you will end up with a usable storage of one drive. If the drives are not the same size you'll end up with a mirror volume the size of the smaller drive and some extra space you could use un-mirrored to not let it go to waste. (May not be the most efficient way and not work for all mirroring setups, though...) Anyway, if I order 2 750GB drives and get delivered something different, I'd return it immediately.
