Add "Augmented Undead" to the thing.
It's a template from, I think, Tome of Horrors, or Libris Mortis.
You effectivly INTENTIONALLY kill your character via a ritual.
You bring it back as if it were alive, but it's not.
You get some rather nifty bonuses, and a Will save vs Turning.
You are in full command of yourself, no Lich-like needing to keep your heart in a jar, and it's as if you're just a regular person...
Except that you're dead.
You can even be a LG Paladin - because the AU aren't inherently evil, just dead. =-)p
You lose a level, but if the DM will allow you to play an AU at all, you can incoporate that into the character at creation.
I was allowed to play an AU Cleric of Ehlona (sp?) who REALLY loved healing animals.
Not a druid, but a Cleric that had died but refused to go away. =-)p hahahaha
Annoyed the FARQ out of the DM when he tried to use Fear-based attacks against me and they auto-failed because an AU is immune to such things... and diseases, poisons, gaze attacks that turn you to stone, and...
