I want to pick your brains (in a non-zombie manner for a change!) to get ideas.
I want to find some of the most strange, bizarre, worthless, worthwhile, pathetic, awesome, racial combinations for offspring.
For example: a Terrasque & a Pixie.
There are some restrictions, however.
You can't use any creature/being that is considered Unique. (Thus the Terrasque is out.) Rare is fine, but Unique is not. Deities are right out.
You can't use any creature/being that requires figuring out their parentage first.
For example: The child of the aforementioned Terrasque & Pixie, then mating with anything else.
First because the Terrasque isn't allowed, but also because it would require making the T+P child's stats before going on to determining the children of it.
No non-sentient results.
You can't use things like "A Dwarf & a table!" because the table isn't normally considered sentient.
The results must be sentient; a thinking being of at least Animal Intelligence must be both of the parents & thus the offspring.
You can't use zombies, Liches, Wights, or anything else that is dead, undead, or otherwise not alive.
I already tried "Augmented Undead Mind Flayer plus a StoneChild" and the DM said "No dead bits!" *pout* =-)p
Only two races to combine.
No "Dwarf + Elf + Halfling" style orgies. =-)p
(Because it's too difficult to figure out what the child should be.)
So keeping those in mind, what can YOU come up with?
I've thought of the following ones:
a centaur + elf; c+ dwarf, c+ halfling, c+ minotaur
a StoneChild + Watcher; SC+ Goliath, SC+ centaur, SC+ elf, SC+ pixie, SC+ centipede
A Dracotaur + a StoneChild, D+ minotaur, D+ elf, D+ dwarf, D+ halfling, D+ Half Orc
A Gelatinous Cube + MindFlayer (DM denied it outright)
A MindFlayer + StoneChild, MF+ Dracotaur, MF+ Elf, MF+ dwarf, MF+ pixie (think ChibiCthulu!)
I keep wracking my brains for others, but I keep drawing a blank as I try to think of all the various creatures to combine.
An Ankeg + Dire Beholder?
A MindFlayer + CatFolk?
Jackal Soldier + Tiefling?
Lantern Archon + Mimic?
A Celestial Unicorn + Dire Merman?
(That one doesn't work well since it probably wouldn't be able to exist well on dry land where the adventure is currently being played.)
The goal is to come up with an interesting, entertaining, PLAYABLE race for me to play in our current adventure.
The players have been asked to come up with one new Character to play, in addition to the one we're already running.
