However, it can be processed as a debit transaction (requiring a PIN) or it can be processed as a credit card transaction (no PIN required, but for bricks/mortar stores a signature is typically required). In both cases, the money comes out of my bank account. With a debit transation, I can get cash back, but not with a credit transaction.
