How p4ed off should I be. Equivalent job to mine by Jeff_UK2011-01-13 08:03:15
how can they not permit you to apply for that job? by voxwoman2011-01-13 09:34:31
You've got to love that type of situation. by ag_wyvern 2011-01-13 09:45:51
Long time ago, I had some coworkers:
A - Manager of education group (2 subordinates)
B - Senior subordinate
C - Junior subordinate

C obtains another job offer for significantly higher pay.
C tells A and asks company to match the salary.
A asks boss, boss says 'no'.
A tells C, C submits resignation.

Next day, boss tells A that they will match the salary.
A tells C.
C says 'no' (too late!), and tells B how much they offered her.

B is annoyed, because it's more than B makes. In fact, A is annoyed also, because it's more than A makes.

B demands the higher salary and gets it. And A gets an even higher salary as well.

Gosh, that worked well for the company :-)
