I had an idea for steampunk-style "welding goggles", where the smoked glass was mounted on curved rails each side of the head and could be rolled forward, sort of like the shuttle bay doors on the USS Enterprise. The sides would be geared such that moving one side moved both, of course. (That's about $120 added to the BOM cost right there) It's a gloriously impractical idea, which is why I fell in love with it, but I'm sure someone must have had a similar idea in the past. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
