How p4ed off should I be. Equivalent job to mine by Jeff_UK 2011-01-13 08:03:15
being advertised by the company.. explicitly stated as looking for someone to do exactly the same stuff as me (i.e. a counterpart, not a replacement)

With a starting salary at least 10% higher than mine.

On a scale of 1-10.. 1 being 'zen buddhist monk' 10 being a grizzly bear that's just been told the fact it's worked for a company for 5 years is irrelevant, it's not worth as much as the new bear...

</rant>

Of course this doesn't guarantee they any new person will start on that amount... but it's pretty likely I'd say..

So, course of action are either rant like f4 to anyone that will listen, arrange a meeting with my boss and his boss to complain, demand to be allowed to apply for the job internally at the new salary?
