I can accept the technical reasons. I know enough about this to fully accept that a flag day was necessary, BUT I strongly disagree with the way in which it was handled. It was initially indistinguishable from "we've been sued into oblivion" or "we've gone bankrupt", and it tweaked my trust issues (resulting from years of bullying; not an untypical experience for gamers) very hard when I discovered it was a hoax.
