Originally a short hand term for a by NDwight 2010-09-20 06:07:57
Modulator-Demodulator = device to take digital form information and put it into an analog form or vice versa as in: allows a digital computer to connect to another computer over a telephone line (when telephones were analog). Term is still used for conversion of DSL and Voice with Digital Ethernet connections or for a Cable company box for use with computers (Ethernet) and voice communications too.
