The Lighthouse Keeper likes explosions. He makes DR66 look gun-shy.
You need to collect 5 barrels of gunpowder from the Sonofa Beach. There is only one monster there (Lobsterfrogman) and he has a 100% drop rate for barrels of gunpowder. This should be easy, right?
Wrong.
There are 18 non-combat adventures, some of which can cause massive damage (but all of them are hilarious.) This gives you only a 1 in 19 chance* of a combat encounter.
But, you can buy an odor extractor from the Bounty Hunter Hunter for 1 filthy lucre. This is one of the few times I would suggest using up those rather than saving for the nose-book.
Wait until you get your first encounter with a lobsterfrogman and use the odor extractor. This should cut the remainder of the quest to about a dozen adventures rather than 70 or 80.
You can also use reodorant (if you have any,) monster bait (made from pixels,) Carlweather's Cantata of Confrontation, or Musk of the Moose to further increase the chance of combat. (The latter two are skills.
To access:
Frat Warrior: Immediate
Hippy Warrior: Kill 64 Frat Boys
Bonus:
During the war:
Frat Warrior: for 5 barrels of gunpowder get some tequila grenades and molotov cocktail cocktails.
Hippy Warrior: for 5 barrels of gunpowder get some patchouli oil bombs and exploding hackensacks
After the War:
Same for both: Get one Big Boom for each barrel of gunpowder.
*The equation deciding which adventure comes up is really complicated, hidden, and out of scope so this is all back-of-the envelope math. |
