drivers anymore, but only the ALSA ones.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is related to PulseAudio.This is a relatively new layer in between ALSA (the low-level audio system on Linux) and the applications themselves. Its purpose is good for desktop users, but it has in the recent past been included in distributions a bit prematurely, leading to problems.

But there's not a whole lot info to go on for now, and at the moment it seems to work for Klaranth, so we'll have to wait and see.
