But I assume so do at least some of the hunderds or thousands of people actually on the scene and don't really buy his "Nobody's been to the right schools" stance.

Also I don't really see what BP would gain from doing a sloppy job. Any short term gain would probably be surpsassed by the damages and the negative publicity.

Having got my first lesson about f*ing booming from that site, I see two problems with his approach:
- It needs about three times as much boom than a straight line. You need to have all that boom at hand.
- You need anchor blocks. So you probably can only do it close to shore, not out at sea where the spill covers less area.
