red home office..... (SSLR)
I know I have a Molex 4-pin power connector-to-SATA power connector adapter around here somewhere. I *think* the issue I have building the video surveillance box I am working on is Ubuntu having issues with the RAID-1 array on the add-in controller card. The array is 1T in size, I partitioned it into smaller chunks (the largest being where the video is stored). In spite of the CD passing a disk check before I started building, I cannot install a bootloader. GRUB and LILO both fail to install. Of course, without a bootloader, the system will not boot.
I have available SATA ports on the motherboard, however the PS does not have SATA power connectors (it is an industrial rack mount chassis). This is where the adapter comes in. I can picture it in my head. I have an idea where I saw it last. I cannot find it. I want to install this box when I go to the station on Wednesday, which means I have to get it built and the software installed and tested before then. |
