heh, nice. XUbuntu install on a small usb hdd	by Freakazoid	2010-04-25 13:24:59
(like actual hdd, a 1.8" 4Gig hard drive I got cheap a while back) yanked the drive from the laptop and it automatically picked up on pretty much everything so far. Rather impressed that it knows about the special keys. Brightness up/down shows an appropriate display, same with volume up/down. haven't tried wireless yet but given it's an intel bgn card (common as dirt just about) it should work.
