Uficle: XP, XP Mode, Virtualbox & USB by DesiredUsername 2010-04-23 15:53:31
This post got me thinking. We have an older custom USB device that only works under XP, not Vista or 7. We'd like to use it with new machines that must have Win7 for other software reasons. I'm fairly sure XP Mode won't cut it.

Can we load up Virtualbox (or some other VM) running real Windows XP to access this device? Will Win7 ignore the fact that it doesn't have a proper driver and just let XP inside the Virtualbox talk directly to it?

"XP Mode" is just XP in a VM by the_diggity2010-04-23 15:55:07
Also, VMware Workstation can import the XP Mode VM by owh2010-04-23 17:24:10
