but you should not take that chance and drop them to test the theory. :)

You just may happen to get the one round that does not have the primer seated flush with the brass and will hit the ground perfectly flat or may have been struck by the firearm and be a hang-fire or have the back bent in to where it is just touching the anvil in the primer and you just have to sneeze to make it go off.

Trust me...hangfires are scary as heck! Had one happen to a guy I ran in last weeks match and it took both he and I a few minutes to unpucker.

Primers alone are one of the MOST DANGEROUS things when you are reloading bullets! It does take a pretty god whack to set them off... but still... you need to treat them with respect if you want to keep all your fingers, toes, and eyes. There is a reason that I take my time when loading up primer tubes to reload and if I feel resistance inserting a primer, I stop. This is especially true with "soft shelled" primers like the Federal brand... Federal brand primers deform very very easily.
