If you want to put gels on lights, make sure they are designed for that, because they get hot. The ones on the linked site are probably OK (if you don't use 2kW lights), but don't just use any coloured plastic from the hobby shop!

Also, unless you're looking for strong effects, you might want to also make use of more subtle colours. From one of the more well-known manufacturers, Lee, there's e.g. the 200 series which was designed as correction filters.
