It is not the red ring of death but it is annoying. Apparently if you turn your PS3 on and it tries to check your trophies, it can think that you have "given" them to yourself because for some reason the older "Fat" PS3's think it is 12/31/99 and since the trophies time stamps are "in the future" it thinks they are fake....and will remove them. It is not supposed to affect the newer slim models though and they are trying to roll out a fix ASAP.
