Dutch language question. by vetitice2010-03-01 10:31:37
I recall the Elephant 'blowing out' the story. by cokish2010-03-01 10:51:11

I'm guessing in Dutch stories the elephant isn't a character in the story, but is a deus ex machina to come in and abruptly end it?

It's a short (10 min) movie on Youtube (and downloadable in HD from their web page), and there's a fairly complete synopsis on Wikipedia.

As far as I can tell, there isn't much of a story. It's two men, one old, one young, traveling through a surreal and dangerous machine. There's a hint that only the old man can see the machine and it's danger, or perhaps the danger is only in his head. The younger man walks through it oblivious.

It could be the "blowing away the story" is the young man rejecting the others' reality, or the old man stopping him from creating his own.

Hmmm
