US attacking Yemen: Exercise in stupidity and would be wrong. Yemen is NOT a battleground for US military force right now.
US attacking Iran: Stupid and as wrongheaded as is possible because of the on-going revolution that is getting rid of the current crop of idiots. US intervention is the LAST thing the dissidents and activitsts want. It has a huge history of fouling up Iran.
As well, the human guided missile is still the most effective method of attacking, and as has been shown by the Undiebomber, is highly effective against a cowardly populace even if it does not actually work.
You can not actually stop determined attackers, you can limit them through law enforcement and intelligence means. The only effective alternative to "suck it up and soldier on" in the face of terrorism is genocide.
If the American media/political/military complex were to go into a British "stiff upper lip" mode like the Brit response to the IRA bombings then less angst, breast-beatings and emo madness would carry the day. But that does not sell. Sell technology, commercial views or votes, to be specific. "All Hands to Panic Stations" is a much more profitable response. |
