'Appear' being the operative word. by kelli217 2010-01-04 12:36:39
It's illegal to have a weapon on school property in pretty much any public school system in the United States. Even Texas, where they issue a rifle to each newborn even before they slap it to take its first breath, doesn't let them take it to public school.

Making something illegal, though, whether here or there, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I believe that it happens even in the ultimate pinnacle of civilized behavior, Europe, where there are no guns, and even the cops have to make do with black-painted sticks and yelling BANG! in situations where their lives or the lives of others are at risk. Dunblane? Erfurt? Freising? Branneburg? Never heard of them.

Unhappily, 'appear' was there for a reason, yes. (n/t) by callithrix2010-01-04 12:52:33
