If you go into Settings and click on the "Labs"	by Unavailable	2010-01-04 10:46:56
tab, there are several features you can select that are currently in the testing phase and may disappear or stop working at some point. The third from the bottom is called "Jump To Date", and clicking it will add a box on the right of your screen that will enable you to put in the date you want to go to - future or past. They are working on improvements for you! Maybe you should suggest the week number feature as well? It would never have occurred to me.
