Masturbation is a good topic for stand-up comedians. I wish that people would talk about it some more, and that they'd include it as part of sex ed in schools (the US Surgeon General got fired for suggesting that very thing, several years ago). My guess is that people don't talk about masturbation in social contexts, just like they don't discuss sex in general... in the workplace it could make for "discomfort" with employees, and some people like to keep that sort of thing private.
But trust me, even with all the kids grown up, toilet functions are not off-limits at OUR family gatherings (sometimes, I wish they were!) |
