  Isn't it just a matter of drawing a line? by EnzoMatrix2010-01-04 02:50:56
Sometimes an unwritten line by Aon 2010-01-04 03:10:33
For example the original topics on this thread might be openly discussed, sometimes with a lot of mirth, in a smoko room at a foundry or a bush gang, down the pub, footy clubrooms, hospital etc.

Not so much at a lawyers office, parliamentary debating chamber (except obliquely) or a ladies sewing circle.

Gets back to my main theory that it is based on tolerance. Tolerance of what people can talk about just as much as of what they shouldn't talk about. Each to their own.

The big problems in this world happen when (for example) the lawyer/sewing circle try to dictate what can be said at a clubrooms or foundry, or conversely, a bushman or doctor not tolerating that the sewers have the right to NOT talk about it (like 99.9% of the people here today are doing with this thread).
