Dig deeply, and find as many grants as you can.

Thanks to her extra work and effort in finding grants rather than loans, my ex-girlfriend has about 1/3 the student loan debt of most college graduates.

Given how long many student loans take to pay back, that means she could end up shelling out about 1/6 or less of the money.

It's worth it.
