How to kill a pesky Paladin? by carthax2009-12-02 12:34:22

He followed the die rolls to the letter? (Well, number; whatever.) And what's this about "winning decisively against overwhelming odds"? If the layout was such that one spell could destroy all the enemy leaders, it strikes me that the odds were much less overwhelming than they appeared - and I would certainly modify the XP bonus to reflect that.

And how are you supposed to carry around 800,000 worth of platinum pieces? (I'm not sure what edition you're using, but in 1st edition, which is my preference, that's 160,000 gold pieces with an encumbrance of 16,000 pounds. There's no way you're getting that out without a *massive* wagon train - and there's no way I, as DM, am letting a massive wagon train to get into a hollowed-out mountain. (And wait 'til you see what I'd have in mind once you made it out of the mountain. Word of loose treasure travels *fast*.)
