We've tried letting the market handle health care in the US for well over half a century. I would've thought that if the free market was going to sort it out they'd have done so by now.
Sans regulation, they will only cover folks that don't need health care, and cut off any that suddenly do, just like they do with drivers and homeowners that have one too many claims.
Government run health insurance has its own sets of problems, but at least in countries that have it in whatever form, no-one is bankrupted because of health issues, and no-one is denied care. |
