This story comes from a few independent sources: MediaMatters, Politico,The Atlantic, etc. Does the phrase "Come celebrate with Fox News" ring a bell?

OK, so these media may not have the full support of the NRA. But they do tell a consistent story. A story fully corroborated by Fox opinionators' invitation to come join them at specific protests. The request from Fox to send in places and locations so Fox could support their protests with coverage.

Fox took advantage of an existing fledgling protest and blew it up out of all proportions, thereby creating news where there wasn't any before. That is what the network should be called on; not their bias, no matter how clear it is (except, possibly, to get them to withdraw their slogan of 'fair and balanced'. It is obviously a misrepresentation.)

As for conspiracy sites -- I don't frequent any. Did you not find any links to this news on your perusal of them?
