Swine Flu: The Risks and Efficacy of Vaccines by DesertRat662009-10-26 12:30:19
If you work in a hospital it's a good idea. by vampire2009-10-26 12:58:03
Some doctors offices in my area have stopped by DesertRat662009-10-26 13:00:08

testing for it as well. Here's why:

According to the doctor who tested me for it a month or so ago, the test has a false negative about 50-90% of the time. That renders the test virtually useless. Like the ones in your area, mine are just treating any flu-like symptoms as if it is Teh SwInE FlU OMGWTFBBQ.

As with any flu, just take care of yourself. Make sure you are getting plenty of fluids and try to keep food down as much as you can. See your doctor for anti-nausea medications if you must. This is what will keep you from dying. Most people who die from the flu, die from dehydration.

But, most importantly, stay away from other people if you have it. The CDC website reports that the flu is still contagious up to 7 days after your fever breaks. STAY AWAY!
