To go to something cool, or to catch up on sleep? by josie_beller 2009-10-26 14:02:50
That is the question....

I had a very busy weekend, and am kinda short on sleep. My dog would really appreciate a good long walk while the decent weather holds, and I'd enjoy that too. I wanted to go to the American Science and Surplus store, and pick up a prescription refill, and eat at my favorite Chinese buffet, where I know I'll eat more lean meat and veggies than I would at home. And I need to do some laundry so I'll have scrub tops and socks to wear to work tomorrow.

On the other hand, I have an invite to an event downtown, a "behind-the-scenes look at Shrek The Musical hosted by Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation." It's free other than gas to get there and cost of parking downtown. But, that starts at 5pm and is an hour's drive away, so I'd have to give up pretty much everything else I wanted to do today, and probably get home relatively late, leaving too little time for everything else.

Hmm, I think I've convinced myself, just making the list of things I should be doing or want to do. If I weren't so short on sleep, I might have gotten up earlier and gotten more done today already, but I honestly needed the sleep more. (And no, I'm not telling what I was up to this weekend, but it was worth it!)

Anyone in downtown Chicago already, who's a Shrek and/or DreamWorks fan, who wants to try giving my name to claim my ticket? ;-)
