And the AMA and WHO make no such claims about guns. They simply collect and provide statistics about the risks of things like having guns in the house, or smoking tobacco cigarettes, or anything else which is associated with injury, illness, or death. Collecting that info is better than *not* collecting it -- I assume you would rather make an informed decision, with as many facts at your disposal as possible. It's not their fault if the facts aren't to your liking. If they see a strong correlation between a behavior and death or injury, then it's their duty to bring attention to that correlation. |
