Just like regular flu.
This one may be more virulent; but it seems to kill at about the same rate as seasonal flu among the 'general populace'.
If you don't normally get a flu shot, and are willing to put up with getting the flu, then by all means, don't bother. I'm not.
But if you are in the 'fragile' category (pregnant, under 24, over 60, immuno-compromised) then DEFINITELY go get it. You may not be more likely to die from it than the seasonal flu on a 'percentage of those who get it die' basis, but you are more likely to catch it, therefore you're more likely die because you got it in the first place. |
