Swine Flu: The Risks and Efficacy of Vaccines by DesertRat662009-10-26 12:30:19
If you work in a hospital it's a good idea. by vampire 2009-10-26 12:58:03
Hospital workers are in a much higher exposure zone than most other people. I've had this very conversation with a good friend of mine who is an RN. She's got her vaccination for it a few days ago and had a mild reaction to it with low grade flu symptoms (not uncommon). But, she did not come down with it. At the same time, she wouldn't recommend I get the vaccination unless I was around school age children a lot or lived with her. :D

The media IS blowing H1N1 way out of proportion. For that matter so is the government. Obama's declaration of a national emergency is without merit. They have reported swine flu deaths without any context (the flu kills thousands of people EVERY year).

H1N1 is no more serious than the regular flu. I am not saying we should ignore it H1N1. But the news media and government have exaggerated the concern in an irresponsible manner.
