But the risk of the shot is far lower than the risk if you were to get H1N1 or any flu for that matter. So unless you plan on living in complete isolation until the end of the flu season the statistics show that you would expect to be better off getting the shot. Of course that's little consolation if you end up being at the end of the bell curve and have a bad reaction to the vaccine but lacking a time machine and 20/20 hindsight about all you can do is play the odds.
