I do the finances and such by aprylmae 2009-10-26 06:31:22
for me and hubby. Dad does his own. Hubby is the type that if he has $20 in his pocket and is supposed to go pay a bill with it, he will spend the $20 on something he wants and then can't figure out why the bill didn't get payed. We both realize this. That is why he went through piles of red tape and lots of hoops to get his child supprt to his kids from his first marriage withheld from his disability check and sent directly to his ex-wife before the check is sent to him. Which causes us a whole new set of issues becfause when they divorce, she filed a claim for child support through the county and the check is sent to ser through the state. And the country never sees it, so every year or 2 they like to accuse him of not paying and he has to go to court to prove it again. Which is why he has no driver's liscense. The country suspended it, and refuse to reinstate it without huge fees being paid by us.

And honestly, as bad as Dad can be about this stuff, Mom was far worse. Because while I did everything while she was still there, she would also constantly criticize HOW I did it, flat out tell me she thought I was being lazy and not doing my share every day, and insult everything from my marriage to the way I dress to my taste in TV and music. And at least Dad throws his napkins and paper plates when he uses them and the like into the trash instead of into the sink with the dishes (most of the time anyway) so when I reach into the sink to pull out a plate I would end up with a handful of soggy, greasy paper goop. Although to hear her talk she has turned into a regular Suzy Homemaker for the new flame.

/sigh

I think I need a really long vacation.
