| If you're going for the modern fantasy thing, read the Dresden Files. Soooo addicted...*drool* His fantasy series, the Codex Alera, is actually really great too. Ilona Andrews has a series out there centered around a character "Kate Daniels," in a postapocalyptic Shadowrun-esque Atlanta, Georgia. Basically, magic and technology alternate in waves, sometimes one will work, sometimes the other. But any series in which the main character gets to credibly use the line "Come, little god, and bring your army - my blade is thirsty" gets extra credit in my book. :) |
