...in that "continuous shot", I can't tell, without a frame-by-frame analysis, whether it's really a continuous shot or not.

I agree, though, that the pane is probably much longer than the window opening, and is slid somewhere up or down, revealing a hole, and then slid back quickly before it can be revealed.
