A little bit difficult to explain. I can make up my own axioms, and my own logic, sure, but: I still need the belief that this all will work. It's only a very, very, very slight grain of doubt, but it is there. And you write yourself "it appears that rules of logic ... are at least so basic" Logic only appears to be basic. We cannot be 100% sure. Perhaps 99.99999999999% sure, but not 100%. But this the very edge of possible human thought.
