You're in a boxing match. The rules say 'no hitting below the belt'. You keep getting hit in the crotch. Not only does the referee not see it, and ignore you when you try to tell him, but about a quarter of the crowd cheers whenever it happens.
How long are you going to take that? Are you eventually going to reach a point where if you ever have the slightest advantage, you're going to do the same to your opponent?
It's NOT good. It's, technically, not justifiable either. But it's the same level of visceral behavior that a quarter of the crowd is just fine with when it's happening to you, so principles be damned. Emotion rules. Give back what you got. |
