true.
Bush was elected on a platform of "Compassionate Conservatism." I remember all too well what got him elected, at least the first time. I voted for him. If I had known how much of an Evangelical wingnut he was going to turn out to be, I would not have, and did not the second time.
I "loathe" him because I feel he betrayed my trust by making up an excuse to invade Iraq, by trampling our rights under the Constitution and International treaties, by gutting enforcement of regulations designed to rein in the excesses of Corporate America, by spending like a drunken sailor, and more that I don't intend to argue here, I only mention listing my reasons.
Note please, that I said earlier that Obama's asking for help is a only "bit" more palatable. I see nothing too traumatizing about a leader asking for help from any sector of his constituency. I am critical only because I feel that religion has no place in government at all. I freely acknowledge, however, the futility of denying or trying to restrict its influence.
