| There are so many to choose from, it would be like letting the PC industry councils take over the Bureau of Standards. You could have the HP cubit, and the IBM cubit, and the Microsoft cubit (which would be revised every Tuesday), and the Gateway cubit (with large black splotches on the measurement devices), and the ACER cubit (of which no two production batches would ever be identical in their material or graduations), and the Seagate cubit (which would feature a huge table of pre-looked-up-lengths engraved on it)... |
