Devotional and ritual? by buddha2009-08-26 10:01:23
The first definition states by MatthewDBA 2009-08-26 10:10:05
"usually involving devotional and ritual observances ... often containing a moral code" [emphasis added]

The second definition ("a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices ...") contains no requirement that there be a list of such beliefs and practices, nor that there be a formal assent to them. One could argue, however, that atheists do have at least one fundamental belief: that the answer to the question "Does God exist?" is not "Yes."
