Lawdog on Separation of Church and State by DesertRat662009-08-26 07:37:13
And this differs from the right-wing churches how? by werehatrack2009-08-26 08:43:39
Um, what about the "left wing" churches and by Classic_Jon 2009-08-26 08:58:03
the religions that have bylaws that PREVENT THEM from espousing a political party or belief in the pulpit?

The **KEY** difference here is that the PRESIDENT HIMSELF got on a conference call and said "back this" to the Rabbi's...if that is not using your political clout to *use* a religious holy time for that religion to push your agenda and make it seem like a "holy mandate" I don't know what is!! If it works for him is he also going to call the Muslim leaders and ask them to preach on it during Ramadan that started this last Saturday? Where will it stop? Will religion and politics become so intertwined that we can not separate the two? ...I for one do not want to see ANY movement down that path!

read mine and several others responses to Kelli217 and I think you will see a little more of what I am talking about.
